Lime, Tahiti (Citrus latifolia)

Lime trees are thorny, evergreen citrus trees that reach a height of 15 to 20 feet. Lime leaves, with winged petioles, are small, pale green, and oblong in shape. Limes have white, fragrant flowers about one inch in diameter. Limes are small, oval citrus fruits with smooth skin. Lime color ranges from light to medium green, sometimes with a slight yellow cast. Limes and lemons look similar, but limes are smaller and green (when ripe), and lemons are yellow.
